[CQ-Contest] multiple QSO parties

Dick,
Since I had a bad case of uvulitis (not nearly as distinguished as it
sounds-horrible stuff) I was relegated to CW all weekend and added in the SP
DX. No SSB sprint for me.
Some of my favorite QSO parties are: 7QP and NEWENGLAND QSO Parties (and
FL-QP.let's be honest-activity is great in this one.
Anywhooo...I made similar comments on the groups.io QSO Party page that were
mostly met with indifference and some semi-snide remarks.
As one who tends to play in a lot of domestic contests, my take on this is,
I'd like to see a lot more states combine their efforts to the joy (I'm
sure) of all involved.
Although I did not participate full time, I was active for MANY HOURS this
w/e and made a whopping 2 QSO's in the NE QSO Party. Why? Why have a party
for 2 or 3 CW Q's? (I understand Rich/N0HJV did a bang up job on SSB, but I
couldn't do it..uvulitis.ugh
Anyways.try to get them on the same page as you've done in 7QP..better
yet..have an all 0-land QSO party.
That's the rub.getting everyone to see eye to eye.
I wish you luck. I'd campaign harder for it, but I'm not an American so all
I could do is show my remote support from up here, were we still have snow
(and more forecast for this week.)
Stay safe!

I spent the weekend trying to work the NE MO LA and MS QSO parties, less the
SSB Sprint. It was very frustrating:
- Alt-F, 2 does not really work because there's four of them.
- You have to erase the entry window in order to change logs.
- After the database has more than a few QSOs/log it becomes sluggish to
swap logs and re-display the mult list. (or maybe that's just my video
card).
In my submission I suggested they think about doing a IN7QPNE-like option.
But it is a heavy lift. Each state needs to invent 5 character state/county
exchanges, define a common QSO format, and use a scoring program that
ignores non-counting contacts.
It's difficult but the reward is more participation; because, as a group,
they can reach "critical mass". This means the number of outside
participants could be nearly the same for each rather than being divided
among them.
