[CQ-Contest] NS RTTY this Thursday (And some info about more Sprints!)

Greetings Diddlers:

Another great group kept the ether active last week.  Most of our regulars, with first timer Bob, AC8ZU dropping in.  Bob has done some ‘real’ sprints, so no problem fitting right in.  Welcome!

If you have scanned the WA7BNM Contest Calendar list for this week and weekend, you may have noticed some new entries.  “RTTYOPS Weeksprint”, and “RTTYOPS Weekend Sprint”.  These new activities are sponsored by the RTTY OPS group, and more info can be found at  https://rttyops.wordpress.com  .  Basically there are 3 different sessions, with one each held Tuesday and Thursday morning/afternoon (NA time)  for 2 hours, and one 4 hour weekend session.  Rules are pretty close to the real Sprint rules, with slightly different exchanges.  So if you are looking for some additional keyboard time during the week (and perhaps even a few hours on the weekend), check out the web site and review all the details.  Hope to catch some of you there.

The upcoming weekend has two fairly high level RTTY tests.  The SP DX RTTY test runs for 24 hours in the middle of the weekend.  Then on Sunday, the ever popular BARTG Sprint 75.  Yep, 75 baud!  Yes, S/N is a bit dodgy, but speed is everything!  So review how to get your setup on 75 baud and join in the rip roarin’ fun.  There is also the 10-10 10m Digital Test, but given our present sunspot predicament I would not hold my breath for any activity.  But I suppose you never know.

So get that diddle machine warmed up and please join us Thursday evening.
