The Only Issue I have with the raising of dues is as you say to cover 
the costs of the printing.

Well I'm not sure on that one. I get many ummm "Trade" magazines. Ya 
know where it is a magazine about subject "X",, and it is 100% free, it 
is just as thick as QST, has similar ratio of ad's to articles, yet it's 
FREE.hmmmm?
