[CQ-Contest] CQ Magazine

CQ Magazine has been as much a part of my ham radio experience as a
dipole or a soldering iron. As soon as I got my license, my father
bought me a subscription to CQ. I loved it, and looked forward to every
issue. At first it was to read the 'Scratchi' column, but also the
Surplus and VHF columns to help me get my old tube stuff working on 6m
AM. (Kinda dates me, doesn't it)?

I still have a subscription to the paper version. I will support them
all the way into the ground, until their last issue. I would pay more
for the subscription if they raised the rates.

I don't care for the digital version of any periodical. Just never got
the hang of balancing a laptop on my knees in the 'library'.

As for supporting the CQ contest, how about if they charged an entry
fee? I'd gladly pay that to support the best contests of the year. Or
maybe only charge for entries that are likely to place top ten. Or just
request a donation with your entry?

p.s. The ABSOLUTE BEST 'library' periodical is 'Electric Radio'. One
issue lasts at least two weeks, vs one 'sitting' for QST or CQ.
