It was easy to do in the old days, too. Just forget to watch the dial,
or get confused about whether you were using the VFO in the T4-X or
the R-4.

But the point is that the op is supposed to be aware of what s/he is
doing, and not operate out the allowed band.

"Gee, officer.  Don't write me a citation.  I ran the Stop sign by accident."
