[CQ-Contest] Contesting tip of the week

As contesters we may feel that way, but the original point is valid. The casual guy who is chasing awards does not feel compelled to maximize QSOs. He is looking for contacts that could result in QSLs or confirmations for awards.

Think of QSLing or LotW as marketing. You want people to think kindly when they hear your call and are therefore inspired to call you again.

Ridiculous !

What's next? Folks that send out plain-jane monochrome cheap cardstock QSLs every couple months won't get a QSO vs, someone that's got a beautiful multicoloured photo QSL card with a nice satin finish on thick bond cardstock that gets mailed weekly?

QSLing methods should have no bearing whatsoever on making QSO's in the
(polite) battle of a contest.

I could care less how you QSL when I am contesting. If you have a valid callsign and are a needed mult, or a regular QSO, I'll call you and worry about that stuff later.
