I have an older set of Heil Pro set-4 Headphones.
I love the Speakers,
I love the HC-4 Mic.
The ear pads I Hate! They have to be the worst I have ever worn!
The Tiny In ear canal sets are great. Like these that are made for Voice
sounds

Then the small like el cheapo sets where the speaker kind of fits over
the ear canal but not into it, and are small like 1 inch in diameter.
And kind of fit just over your ear hole but not covering your ear flappy
part.

Then like the old school like David Clark ones where the ear pads are
HUGE and completely fit OVER the ear and even do not touch the ear at
all and only touch your skull!

The size of the Pro set-4 is in-between these last two. They are too
small to let your whole ear fit inside the headset pad hole, and too big
to act like the second one where it just covers the ear canal only. they
are a size that crushes your outer ear. And in a long contest your ear
starts to hurt, or at least mine does.
The best set of headphones I ever owned was a set of KOSS for Music in
the 70's They were huge like the Clarks. and the pads were not even
foam, they were like a waterbed. a gel filled oval. And only touched
your skull. They were incredible!
So I'm thinking of changing the pads on this head set to a gel filled
set like these,

Has anyone else done anything like this? And what did you use?
