The CD parties were awesome, the most contest fun I ever had. Not only do I miss them, I miss having a dedicated CD (communication department) as a central ARRL concept. And that's No Joking Matter.

Did the CD Parties continue up until 1991 when the NAQP's started, or was
there a gap?

Hi Dave,

I remember K5MDX well from the 1960s CD Parties.

Just one example, can you find my CW and phone scores?

http://p1k.arrl.org/pubs_archive/49207

The operating skill in CD Parties was like no other contest.
The January 1962 was my first CW CD Party score over 100K,
a milestone in the development of any CW contester
60 years ago.

Frank,

Entered several CD parties as K5MDX years ago. They were fun.
