p.s.-to put this to the extreme.all single band entrants could just run 5
more transmitters as beacons on the "other" bands, simply announcing their
chosen bands' frequency over and over..RTTY, SSB, CW, whatever.

See how silly it sounds?

I don't have a dog in this fight, as only 1-2% of my operations here are on
RTTY.

Seems to me, even if it's not written so, that if I am single band 40m, I am
not to venture off onto 20m and solicit contacts

so I can get that new mult or QSO on "my chosen band". If things are dead
on 40m in the daytime and I want to play on 20m to break the boredom, so be
it, but operation on other bands should have zero effect on my chosen band.
By asking someone to QSY to the chosen band, you are not really any longer
"single band", right?

The INTENT is clear (at least to me) that if you choose a band, you choose a
band. You then don't use another band (or another means) to stack your log
for the band you are choosing?

Maybe others interpret it otherwise?
