[CQ-Contest] QST -- the half hour NS (NCCC Sprint) RTTY contest is this Thursday evening in North America (same Zulu time)

To all RTTYops:  

This is areminder that once again, the Northern California Contest Club is pleased topresent our regular weekly half hour RTTY Sprint, aka the NS RTTY, thisThursday evening North America time.

Most of theNorth American continent is now on Standard Time.  This contest always starts at 0145Z eachFriday, 52 months of the year, regardless of whether we’re on Daylight Time orStandard Time.  That means that most ofus will be starting at a different local time than we havebeen for the past few months.  More on thatbelow.

Last week,we had the pleasure of working many regulars, plus NK4O and K4RVA who rejoinedus.  We hope to have a large group in this week’s contest! 

For thoseof you who are new to our weekly NS RTTY’s, we use a variation of the NCJ’sSprint QSY rule – 1 KHz QSY’s rather than 5 KHz – and allow duplicate contactsafter one intervening contact.  If you need a full explanation ofthese special rules, send me an e-mail, and I’ll give you all the details,e.g., a precise definition of our QSY rule. 

So rememberto QSY after you’ve made a contact that you‘ve solicited, and also remember togive both callsigns as part of the exchange.

For thoseof you using the popular N1MM+ logger, the contest module to use isNSRTTYDUPE.  A good set of example function keys is in the N1MM+ website'sfunction key gallery, and available for free download. 

After thecontest, please remember to submit your scores to www.3830scores.com. It’s easy – on 3830, the name of this contest is “NCCC RTTYSprint”.  Reporting your score, whether it be big or small, helpsbuild enthusiasm for this event. That in turn increases participation forfuture editions, which benefits all of us. 

Remember totry 15 meters at the beginning of this Thursday night's contest – 15 hasusually been open at 0145Z lately, at least for some locations.

-- 1745to 1815 PST

-- 2045 to2115 EST

--(others in between those two time intervals)

-- 160meters:  Try 1804, 1805, or 1806 during the last two minutes

--80/40/20/15 meters:  mostly +83 kHz to +89 kHz up from the lowerband edge

-- Sameband dupes are allowed for credit after one intervening QSO

-- 1kHz QSY rule, otherwise standard NCJ Sprint QSY rules

--Multipliers are counted anew on each band, so if 4 bands are open, you’ll get alot of mults!

-- 100Woutput power limit
