I agree while heartedly! Last year we bought 3 air purifiers for our home. I didn’t realize that the main control switch was a touch switch. Dropping my power below 50 watts was the only way to stop them from cycling through speeds and modes. I tried the usual torrids and filters but nothing worked. Even if I shut them off, this would still happen. Unplugging was the only thing that would work. Until I found for 20 bucks at Harbor Freight a remote controlled power outlet. And it came in a 3 pack to boot. So come contest time or any other transmit time, the remote is at my operating position, and off go the air purifiers! Walla, problem solved.

We are no longer using the touch "feature". I have also heard of problems with the motion or iR sensing faucets too. It works great, allowing washing hands without messing with the faucet handle. However, I recently discovered the faucet turns on when I transmit power on 20 meters. Also, my XYL decided she wanted one of these faucets for the main kitchen, and informed me that her faucet behaved erratically one evening when I was operating CW on 80 meters with 800 watts.Anyone know how to shield a touch faucet? The model I have is Delta Faucet Leland Touch Kitchen Faucet. It is powered by 6 AA batteries. The battery pack is connected to the valve via a pair of wires about 3 feet in length. There is also a single wire about two feet in length connecting the valve to the faucet. Thanks for any advice.73, Keith NM5G_______________________________________________CQ-Contest mailinglistCQ-Contest at contesting.comhttp://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/cq-contest
