[CQ-Contest] Online scoreboard

I cannot fathom anyone of the really serious competitors using the
scoreboard to determine strategy. Any serious competitor is too busy making
Qs to be analyzing the scoreboard for strategy.

For the serious competitor, checking the box in your logger is a one-time
thing and takes maybe 5 seconds. But having your running score on the
scoreboard adds to the interest in contesting. No one is asking you to
monitor it yourself.

As a little pistol with no chance of winning a contest, I find the
scoreboard helpful to keep my interest. There have been many times when I
have been ready to go QRT, but in looking at the scoreboard I saw someone
who is only a few points ahead of me or someone who is gaining on me. That
has prompted me to stay in the contest for a while longer. I closely
monitor the club scores to see how I am doing vs. the other club members.

If you are a major competitor, remember where the Qs that you get come
from....all the rest of us.

Contesting is about competition. Let's compete during the contest rather
than several months later. Whether the scoreboard interests you or not,
just check the box. It's a small thing to do to benefit amateur radio and
contesting.
