Hi everyone
A reminder to get ready for the 2024 Oceania DX Contest. The Phone (SSB) event runs for 24 hours starting 06:00 UTC on Saturday 5 October. The CW event is on the following weekend and runs for 24 hours starting 06:00 UTC on Saturday 12 October.
This is the 79th running of the Oceania DX Contest, and with solar conditions the way they are, we are expecting some big scores this year. Conditions are the best they have been in more than a decade, so the opportunity to make contacts with stations in Oceania has never been better!
We are pleased to advise that seven new plaques are being sponsored this year for the highest scoring:
Entrant from AFRICA in the PHONE Single Operator ALL band category (sponsor Karsono Suyanto YB0NDT)
Entrant from SOUTH AMERICA in the PHONE Single Operator ALL band category (sponsor Karsono Suyanto YB0NDT)
Entrant from NEW ZEALAND in the CW Single Operator ALL band LOW power category (sponsor Yannick Devos ZL4YY)
YOUTH team (all operators no older than 25 years age at the start of the contest) from OCEANIA in the PHONE M1, M2 or MM categories (sponsor Comtek Radio)
YOUTH team (all operators no older than 25 years age at the start of the contest) from OCEANIA in the CW M1, M2 or MM categories (sponsor Comtek Radio)
YOUTH entrant (all operators no older than 25 years age at the start of the contest) from NORTH AMERICA in any of the PHONE Single Operator categories (sponsor WE3BS Youth Meme Culture Association)
YOUTH entrant (all operators no older than 25 years age at the start of the contest) from NORTH AMERICA in any of the CW Single Operator categories (sponsor WE3BS Youth Meme Culture Association)
Remember to read the rules for the contest – you can find them at https://www.oceaniadxcontest.com/rules.
Note: The OCDX Phone Contest and the California QSO Party (CQP) contest overlap each other for 14 hours. During this period a California station can call an Oceania station to make a contact in both contests. Similarly, an Oceania station can also call a California station to make a contact in both contests. See the web pages at https://www.oceaniadxcontest.com/news/1524 and https://www.cqp.org/ocdx.html for guidance on how California and Oceania stations can participate and submit logs in both contests.
Please reach out to info at oceaniadxcontest.com <mailto:info at oceaniadxcontest.com> if you have any questions.
73 and we look forwarding to seeing you in the OCDX pileups!
