Hi!

There has been some discusions here about the Commodore 64 Doctor dx
contest simulator.

As some might know the software has been extracted from the cartridge
and the disk image is available here:

https://csdb.dk/release/?id=180269

The disk image works with c64 emulators like VICE. The way to use the
key with the software is by using vband or similar key to computer adapter.

In case of vband, you need to define the fire (1) key as a left ctrl in
emulator. The emulator emulates c64's joysticks using keyboard. The
joystic used needs to be joystick B.

You can test that the key definitions are correct by pressing left ctrl.
There should be a steady sidetone and "tx led" should light up on screen.

Now the problem is that there is some delay when sending, as usb and the
emulation all add to the delays, so sending faster cw is not easy.

When running the software with real c64 hardware there is no delay as
I/O pins are tickled directly.

Note that if using modern tv, there can be high audio delays because of
the audio processing TV's do nowadays. So best to output the audio from
the c64's din connector.

P.S. I'm looking for pdf copy of the Doctor dx manual.
