[CQ-Contest] Ham Radio in the Future

I very much like your last line Bob, freedom of choice.  Like that 
concept generally and specifically here.

I use the online scoreboard myself, mostly so I can watch how the 
participation of our local club is (KCCC) and to see how the other guys 
in the club are doing.  Tend to not watch the larger list as it can be 
depressing to watch just how fast I'm getting left in the dust!  It's a 
pretty cool feature that, for our club at least, does tend to assist in 
participation.

But I also can see absolutely zero rationale for some compulsory 
requirement to use it.  And I don't think the original poster was 
promoting that view either.
