Imagine a weekend without a single pro football game. (American football,
my DX and soccer-aficionado friends.) Not one. No hours of pre-game
jabber. No amazing on-screen graphics and gadgets. No breathless
half-time reports or injury updates. What is a right-thinking person to
do? How about the CW Sprint?

The NCJ North American CW Sprint runs on Saturday evening from Feb 2nd,
2025 at 0000 to 0359 UTC, or as they say on TV, 7pm Eastern, 6pm Central
(sorry, Mountain and Pacific zones). Logs are due Feb 9th. Complete rules
are available at https://ncjweb.com/Sprint-Rules.pdf. (The March RTTY
Sprint is March 9th!) Teams of five persons can be registered on the
contest website at any time up to the start of the contest. Let the funny
names flow!

While the only multipliers are NA countries, US states, and Canadian
provinces, contacts from *anywhere *count for QSO points. There are *lots*
of opportunities for DX friends around the world to make a few QSOs and set
a record for their country! (Records are posted at
https://ncjweb.com/sprint-scores/CWSprintRecords.pdf.) The British
Columbia and Vermont QSO Parties will also be ongoing - be sure to work
stations from those events, too - *and they don't have to QSY after the QSO
so don't expect to take their frequencies, just make the QSO and log that
multiplier!*

Practice sessions in the 30-minute NS Sprint on Thursday night (
https://www.ncccsprint.com/) are a great way to get newcomers interested,
especially those who might not know about the Sprints and could use a
little mentoring to get on and do well. Sprint veterans can use the NS to
brush off the rust, too!

Thanks for being a friend of the CW Sprint!

Manager, NA CW Sprint Contest
