[CQ-Contest] Is SS broken (was : Should contest ops QRS? )

Yes SS has been broken and complained about for 20 years.  Would it be helped by QRS?  No - the exchange is complicated and intimidating.  If someone is really needing QRS, the exchange is a non-starter.

The fact is that a significantly greying part of the hobby likes it.  They are a diminishing minority.  In addition to the CQP exceeding it, it has been stagnant to slightly diminishing while many contests have over doubled in participation.

Do we have to spend another 2 decades reading and listening to the SS needs to be changed vs no don't change it crowds while it continues to die?
