POLL command is gone??

I see that for the latest rev of CT, the POLL command is gone.
Inasmuch as this command was most frequently used to 
fix radio communication timeouts and lockups, does the
removal of the command imply that it is no longer needed.
I.e, are the radio communications now flawless?
