PC-XT Version

a friend of mine was trying to run ct8.22 during the cqwpx cw on a 386 sx 
machine and was unable to get the exchange to include the serial number. 
he is keying his rig thru a serial port and it sends the usual 5nn but no 
serial no.

any suggestions, other than a new version of ct???? anybody ever run into 
this problem?
