This may be of interest to some of you regarding available comports/IRQ's.
I recently purchased a four port serial com board that uses only 1 IRQ...
very neat.  It's manufactured by Lava and does everything it claims.  It
requires a PCI slot.  The model is Quattro-PCI.  Check it out at
www.lavalink.com.  I bought mine at buy.com for about $65... worth every
penny.  I'm now flush in serial I/O :-)

PS.   I think they may offer versions for ISA as well as 2 port versions
