Some folks mention that they use a COM port for keying.  I would
like to respond.

In my humble mind, using a COM port for CW is crazy!  There are
many uses (packet, rotors, network, radio control, & mouse) that need
a COM port while LPT sets there doing nothing.  I suggest that you 
use LPT#1 for CW so you can free up a COM port and enjoy one more
