[ct-user] Computer problems with CT

Hi guys,
My computers are doing weird things with CT9.53 and CT9.65 so I would
appreciate any insight and/or help into possible solutions.
Both computers are 486 vintage with adequate RAM and hard-drive. I am using
ramdrive for the DVP and attempting to set up WPXSSB files for this weekend.
Both are DOS 6.22 and Win 3.1 so there are no windows issues and there are
no IRQ conflicts. The computers are networked via Com2 and Com1 goes to
each FT1000MP.
Questions:
1) What is the last version 9.?? that supports the DVP?
2) When using the PAUSE command and setting the delay between the report
(59) and the number (#) to 1 msec., there is still a gap of about 1 second.
Is there any way to narrow this further? I am truncating the end of the
recording exactly at the end of the 9 in 59, but I can't eliminate this 1
second gap. This is not a problem on cw.
3) The F2 key will record whatever I want but it adds a CQ on to the end of
it BEFORE the serial number. The F2 is normally used for the report. So I
am hearing 59 CQ contest, KQ2M, etc. Same thing when I hit the INS key
(F5+F2). I might hear G3ESY 59 CQ Contest KQ2M KQ2M, 1.
Pretty annoying!
I tried remapping the keys with no success, I even copied the exch.dvp file
from the other computer (which works ok) to the offending computer and
overwrote the the exch.dvp file, but nothing changes.
I downloaded ct965 and tried another version, hoping that 9.53 had a
personality conflict with my computer, but 9.65 did not make a difference.
Any ideas?
4) Occasionally when I record a new message using F1, F2 or F3, the Red /
does NOT stop twirling when I stop recording. It keeps playing and
playing.... When I press the F1 or F2 or F3 key, the red / keeps twirling
and the blue / starts twirling too! The blue / stops twirling at the end of
the recording but the red / continues and DOES NOT allow me to make a new
recording with the same F key.
I have to get out of CT and then start it again.
BTW, I created a NEW subdirectory and transferred only "clean" files over to
it (from the working computer) but some of the problems still persist so I
think it is more than just file a corrupted file issue.
Any help with these problems would be appreciated.
Thanks and 73
