Once again, reply to the list, "Dennis McAlpine" <dennis.mcalpine at verizon.net>, or ken at k1ea.com, but not to me, I am just reposting the message.

#1 The problem is you are booted in Windows. Shutdown the machine and boot it to DOS, not a DOS window within Windows.

#2 What call was in the call field when it could not resolve prefix?

#3. I'll have to check this out

#4 I'm not sure what the phrase "with a call in the blank" means.

#5 The N2ML/MM problem is a bug. /MM stations do not count as mults and CT should not require a state/province. I will fix this.

Subject: CT10 strangeness
Hi Ken,

I used CT10.00.003 in the NAQP and ran into a bunch of strange things that I thought I would pass along. I dunno if anyone else if having the same probems. I haven't had much of a chance to get into the rig to see what is going on so pse take these with a grain of salt. I am using CT on an old 386 25 which also has Windows 3.1 (soon to upgrade the computers.) Eqmt was an FT1000-MP with a Butternut vetical.

1. The clock is strange. It seems to lose about 10 minutes an hour. I also had timing problems on sending cw. This morning I went back to the station and checked it again. Timing is definitel off on CT10. I set the time and checked it abt 5 minutes later and it had lost about 1 minute. I then did the same thing in CT9.65, my old version, and no problem, even after an hour.

2. When I press "+" to enter a QSO, the computer is slow in reacting and prints an error message "Cannot resolve prefix:" and then enters the QSO. I can remove the message using F11.

3. I haven't checked this out fully yet but when using the bandmap, QSOs entered as part of regular logging show up in white as though they were unworked. Calls and frequencies entered using Control Enter were in black. Dunno what happens to Packet entries.

4. In many cases, when I hit tab with a call in the blank, I wold get a message that "multiplier s needed" even though it was clearly marked off on the Mult sheet.

5. I guess I should have figured out what to do with N2ML/MM but the og would not accept "R2" as a section. That cud be a problem if it happens in a contest where "R2" is a valid mult.

Other than that the play was great, Mrs Lincoln.

Thanks for the support. Sri to hve run into so many problems but figure you would know f they were real or not.

73,

Dennis, K2SX
