Hi Mark:

Thank you for your suggestion. I now have indeed edited the Cabrillo
log to remove the "false L" from the 3 QTC receiving stations. In addition
I edited the callsigns in the wae2009.wae file, which appears to be the
log of QTC groupings.

Now all would be well, except for the fact that I sent QTC groups 2/8 and
7/5 to YR1C. He stopped me then without saying why, but the program had
already recorded those last 5 as sent QTCs. At that point I became
suspicious and discovered my problem. Of course YR1C is allowed only 10 received
QTCs, which may be the case in his log, but in fact my Cabrillo log shows
13 as being sent !! Not sure how this would be handled if I sent my log
in ?? Do I just lose credit for 3 sent QTCs or will I have to spend
6 hours in the dunk tank at the next Friedrichshafen Hamfest?

Anyway, I do this all for fun, and next time I will be more careful with
opening and operating within the QTC window! Thanks again Mark!

Hi Don:

If I understand the problem correctly, you can just edit the Cabrillo log
and fix the offending "QTC" lines manually.

If you look at it, the required changes should be clear. The QTC is in up
to ten lines with the receiving station's callsign in EACH line.

It has been years since I played in WAE CW. On Friday night I set
things up and was very pleased with myself as I figured out how to send
QTCs
by using ALT L. It took a while to get my aging brain into sync,
realizing that I had to hit ENTER after the callsign of the station to
whom the
messages were being sent.

While "fat fingering" this process, I inadvertently (short for screwing
up!) added an L immediately before 3 of the receiving stations call signs.

For example.... YR1C is now LYR1C DL8DYL is now LDL8DYL
DM1A is LDM1A

How do I fix this? I did go into the callsign line to bring up the
erroneous callsigns, and then reactivate the QTC window. I changed
the
call signs "post contest", but I don't think that did it...

Who is wiser than I am? ........ I know ... that leaves me wide
open.

TIA for any help. Its no big deal. I can always submit just a check
log with a note to the sponsors... I was a good boy and never went
above
7040, so maybe they would take pity on me!
