Best Way to Roan Mt.

What is the best way to Roan Mt. from NE Atlanta?  Looking at a map it looks
like I-85 to Greenville then North to Asheville then Johnson City and
finally Southeast to Roan.  Seems a little out of the way but the best I
could come up with.  Any other suggestions?
