Hello everyone. I have had a suggestion for a new location for our next
meeting scheduled for Saturday the 25th. Johnny, K4TW has suggested the
China Inn in Chamblee Plaza. It is on Peachtree Industrial Blvd. about 1
mile inside I-285. He says it is the best chinese food in these parts and
has a private meeting room that will hold 20 folks. I know it is a longer
drive for some folks but it is also closer for others. In my case, it is
probably not much different and I think it would be good to try a different
place. We have had a lot of meetings of one kind or another at Decker's
over the past two or three years and it is starting to get a little old.
Let me know your feelings one way or another about this suggestion by this
weekend. If there is no overwelming cries of objection then I will tell
Johnny to see if he can reserve the room for us on the 25th.
Dick, K5AND has found a really good and inexpensive source for aluminum mast
pipe. He can get a piece of 24 feet long, 2 inch OD, 1/8 inch wall
thickness for $42. If you check Texas Towers you will see that this is a
really good deal. He has already ordered two pieces for K4EA and I to use
for masts on 6 and 2 and K4SZ wants one to make some masts for the microwave
station. Dick doesn't want to wear out his welcome with his supplier so he
is going to place one and only one more order. If anyone else, other than
Bob, wants to get in on this deal please let Dick and I know by this
weekend. Dick will probably place the order Monday so he needs to know
something by then. Oh, I almost forgot. There is one catch. It will be
delivered to Dick's company, Southern Staircase, in Alpharetta so you need
to arrange to pick it up from there.
That is it for now.
