As chairman of said IEEE conference I agree with Bob completely and also add
my endorsement for W4RU as SE Vice Director. I would also like to add one
additional thing that many might not be aware of. Sandy's opponent has
lived in the SE Division for only a few years (since mid 90s). I have rigs
that have been around longer than this guy. Don't get me wrong, Sandy's
opponent may be a great guy but Sandy has been around and serving some
function in the ARRL here in Georgia for 20+ years. He has served us well,
correction VERY WELL, in recent years as Georgia Section Manager. I doubt
their are many active hams around here in Georgia who don't owe Sandy a
favor for taking care of some snafu at the ARRL. I know he has fixed
several for me over the years. So when you get that ballot in the mail just
ask yourself, do I want some guy in Florida who I have never met and has
never done diddly for me representing my interests at the ARRL or do I want
someone who has been a friend to amateur radio here in Georgia for many
years. End of political commentary.
