I have an IC-275H that I purchased used about a month ago and really
like.  Both families are multi-mode radios, and both can be
PC-interfaced with the CT-17 level converter.  While I'm sure there are
other differences, the only ones I know about are the x75 models have an
LCD display and 99 memories and the x71 models have an LED display and
32 memories.

Both models are readily available on the used market, when I purchased
mine I saw prices in the $300 - $400 range for the 271 and $500 - $600
for the 275 depending on condition, options, etc.  I believe the x75
family was produced in the early to mid 1990s and the x71 family is from
the mid-late 1980s, but that is from memory.

Also, the x75 family had rigs for 10/6, 2, 432 and 1296.  I know the x71
family was available in 2 and 432, not sure about 6 and 432.  You can
