Hello everyone. I was talking to Bob last night about our plans for 432 and
microwaves. We thought it would be a good idea to update everyone on our
plans.

432 MHz
I will be handling most of this station. FT1000MP and DEMI transverter.
For an amplifier I will borrow K5AND's Lunar Link and a Power Supply. With
the drive available from the DEMI transverter I would guess we will get 700
to 800 Watts out. Antenna will be the stacked 432 antennas that the club
owns. Note to K4EA: Neal you need to assemble the other 432 MHz antenna.
Bob says he has a way to mount two towers on his trailer so unless he has
been drinking from the sacred vessel again that is what the 432 MHz and
microwave antennas will be on. Feedline will be one of the short runs of
7/8th that the club has. Note to K4SZ: Will the runs of 7/8th hardline we
have be long enough if the towers are on a another trailer?

Microwave
Bob is handling this with my help. We will be on 903 through 3456. The
rigs will be various IF rigs and transverters put together only like Bob can
do it. Bob has power (30 to 60 watts) on all bands except 2304. Bob is
going to contact K5VH and but a few bucks into Tom's pocket for a 30 Watt
2304 amplifier. Everyone thank Bob for his contribution to the effort. I
don't remember the details on the antenna setup except that it will be
stacked loopers and a dish all on one tower. Feedlines will be short runs
of 7/8th hardline. We would also like to do 5760 and 10 GHz but someone
else will need to join the microwave team and bring that to the table. If
anyone would like to join the microwave team and bring higher frequency gear
they are welcome. Just let Bob and I know.

Shelter: Bob thinks we can get 144, 222, 432 and microwave all in Robins
trailer if we use smaller 4 foot tables. Personaly I think that might be a
bit to cosey so we need to discuss this. 432 and microwaves need to stay
together. Any other suggestions or ideas?

Power: Between Bob and I we have two generators. One is a small one (2KW)
that we will be loaning to the CLO for the microwave oven, etc. That way he
will not be stealing power from the important task of making RF. The other
is my 5 KW that I can bring if needed.

Computers: I have a laptop that I will be using for 432 and Bob has enough
laptops for 10 stations so we have that covered. We all need to make sure
that we upgrade the version of writelog that we have on our laptops to the
same version. Bob and I will find out in Dayton what the latest version is.

That is it for us. Now how about the other band captains posting their
plans for 50, 144 and 222 MHz. Thanks.
