Gentlemen, I have had several brainstorms lately (I know, I thought it
had completely stopped working some time back too!) and the latest
result is a new tower trailer.  Took me less than a day from start to
finish.  Of course I had an old boat trailer and the military crank-up
mast, just hadn't gotten an idea of how to put them together.  Yesterday
while scrounging in the junk pile behind a satellite dealer, I found a
roof mount dish tripod.  The ideas then just came together.  It's like
it was made to fit my trailer.  With a little work, drilling some holes,
cutting some steel and a little welding, here it is!!  I set it up in
the back yard with a mast mount Yaesu rotator on top and a CC 5el 6m
just to see how it would look.  Very stable without guy wires or
out-riggers for the trailer.  I have a design for out-riggers, but I
don't think I'm going to need them.

Bottom line:  Now we have another tower trailer to take to the mountain
in June.  I'll need a volunteer to pull it up there too.  It's light, I
think a VW could easily pull it!!!

Next project: The muse has come to me with details for tower trailer
number three which will involve converting my big red equipment
trailer.  I think it will take me about a weeks work on it at least, but
I WILL have it finished before the June contest too.
