Gentlemen, forward this to anyone you know of that you've asked to come.
Time is getting closer. We need to make food plans now. We need a
confirmation of who is coming so that Paul can plan for the food. I'll
be the clearing house. Let me know how many meals you will be there for
and any friends or extra ops that are coming that want in on the food
deal and how many meals they'll be there for too. e.g. for myself, I'll
be going up on Friday and expecting Fri supper thru Monday breakfast as
usual. Paul, do you still want me to bring my small 2kW generator for
you to use for cooking?
Also, Paul we really need the info on the rotator mount on the van tower
so that we can use our own rotator unless it's a good rotator. It
sounded like an old click-box Ham-M and I don't think we want to use
that for the contest. What size mast the tower will take too.
Robin and Neal, make sure you have extra long rotator cables to make it
from the Tower Trailer #1 site and the Van site back to the operating
trailers. Feed line too.
Generators: What do you have and what are you planning to bring. From
the plans I've seen we will have real kW amps on 6, 2, 222 & 432. This
is more big iron than we've had in the past several years so we need to
plan the generators and loading accordingly. We know the group has more
than enough generators, just want to hear the plans. The microwave gear
will probably only draw about a maximum of 300W so I should be able to
tag on to one of the big generators. Don't forget gas cans with all the
generator power we'll be using, we'll need plenty. Also, the power
distribution breaker panel is at Neals and we will need it. Don't
forget all your long power cords to go from the generators to the
trailers.
Does anyone think we should take a back-up tower? I have plenty of
stuff here that we usually use (30' guyed tower, base, stakes, etc) but
unless someone comes by to help carry it, I won't have room to haul it
with me. Getting pretty loaded up with all the microwave stuff and the
new tower trailer doesn't leave as much hauling room. I had figured on
Brians new trailer being here for extra stuff, but that doesn't seem to
be the current plan.
We are planning to use the TWO 432 FO22s that belong to the club. I
have a power divider, but the phasing lines are at Neals along with the
2X1296 loopers, PD, phasing lines and H-frame.
That should about cover it for now. Let's hear from you as the contest
is coming up fast.
The new tower trailer #3 is coming together. I worked on it all day
today and really think that there will not be a problem completing
everything now. Also finished the first operating box/table and tested
all the new logging computers. Anyone else that needs one, let me know.
