Gentlemen, As mentioned earlier, we are still on track to attempt to do
some recruiting at the Stone Mountain/Lawrenceville Hamfest coming up on
November 6th and 7th.

I contacted Randy Bassett KR4NQ who is in charge of the hamfest and told
him what we'd be doing. He considered that we would be a 'draw' for the
hamfest and offered us FREE space. We will all have to pay our normal
admission and if anyone wants to tailgate next to where we are set-up
then just pay the tail gate fee also. He has offered the space in the
flea market just outside the door of the vendor building where the exams
are given if you all remember that location. I think it will be
excellent.

Jim and I talked this weekend about what to do and thus far have come up
with the following:

We would like to take Brians trailer and at least one tower trailer.

I will bring my video camera/player with the tapes I've made of a couple
of contests and a small video monitor. We can set this up on one of the
tables in the trailer and show the videos to interested folks.

We thought that maybe the microwave antennas would be the most
impressive to put up. Any thoughts from the group would be appreciated
on this. We will just put up the antennas with no feedlines. That will
be the easiest and there won't really be anyone to work anyway. We have
discussed using the green tower trailer, but after further thought I
don't think we can lift the microwave mast with all the antennas up to
put it on top of the rotator. So now I think the red trailer would be
best and probably just as easy. Then we could put something else on
the other tower. Any suggestions there?

Jim will bring the 432 station and set it up (without cables) as a
static display. Any other suggestions of stations to show? Volunteers?
We don't need to have everything hooked up and operating, just set up
like we have them on the table for the contest.

Jim will make a hand-out sheet with the web address, info about the
reflector, officers names and numbers for contact. He will also do a
poster with some pix off the web page showning other stations and lists
of equipment. I'll do a poster about membership, costs, etc.
Any other suggestions from the group?

This is were we stand right now. We are planning to take the stuff down
Friday afternoon and set it up, be there for show and tell on Satuday
and take down some time Sunday.

We did assume that Brian would let us do this with his trailer whether
he will be able to participate or not. Maybe Ivan can help out and tow
the trailer down there also as a back-up plan.

Let's hear some suggestions. So far Bob, Jim and Dick have indicated
that they will participate and spend time at the hamfest recruiting.
Let's have some help from whoever else can participate and give us some
off (shopping) time too.

Thanks and 73, bob
