Sept. results.... ???Conditions were OK but nothing really spectacular like your opening on 432. 6 was slow with very little sporadic E, scatter, etc. Neal still managed to catch a few short openings and crank out 300+ Qs and a good number of grids on that band. Qs and grids on 144 through 432 were average. I had around 70 Qs and 30 grids on 432. Very few random Qs. Not as well as I have done in the past but then again I was only running 150 Watts and a single K1FO. Final score was around 120,000. We have done better in the past but we have done worse also so given our limited resources I am pleased. Sorry we missed you on the higher bands. For some reason having fewer folks and everything in one trailer seemed to cause more confusion and less discipline when it came to passing folks from band to band. I saw when we worked you on 144 MHz but somehow you got lost in the confusion and never got passed higher. Bob, K4SZ has the log and will be putting a summary on the reflector soon with all the details.

Jim:
How did things go at W4NH this time for the Sept Contest ??? At W9ICE nothing spectacular happened on 50, 144, or 222 the entire weekend.........but, on 432 I nailed 44 grids this time !!
I listened and listened for you guys on 432 but NO GO. Jim (WE8W) also listened and beaconed on 222 in your direction as often as I did on 432. Understand we worked you on 144 (and maybe 50 mhz ??)
We also had some sort of wild Tropo ducting on higher frequencies Sunday morning about 9:30 when all Hell broke loose on 903 and 1296.....I have never heard anything like this on 1296......I worked 12 grids in Wis, Ind, Ill, Mich, OH, PA, KY Ont to name a few.....bang, bang, bang.....for about 30 minutes.....then it was gone, just like that.....I had 3 stations at one point all calling CQ on the 1296.1 calling frequency and everyone of them was a 60 over S9, no matter which direction I pointed the loop antennas !! Ever hear of multiple station QRM on 1296 ?!?!? It was bedlam for awhile.....
