[Fourlanders] VHF/UHF Contest Advisory Committee

Butler have just returned from the ARRL board meeting.  There was a  motion 
made and passed at the meeting to create a VHF/UHF contest advisory  
committee.  This was done because there is a perception that the  membership 
of the existing contest advisory committee is oriented to HF  and that they 
don't understand or care that much about VHF/UHF  contesting.  Personally, I 
feel that this is also a result of the  aborted attempt to change the VHF/UHF 
contest rules last year.   Anyway, I have been asked to serve as the SE 
Division representative on  this committee.  I agreed under one condition, 
that the you guys  don't have a problem with it or think that it is a 
conflict of  interest.  You also have to agree to not send me hate mail or 
try to  kick me out if this committee proposes changes to the rules that you 
do  not agree with.  This new committee is not general knowledge yet so  
please keep this discussion among just ourselves.   Thanks.

That's great, Jim.  Now we will have a clear target for our hatred and  abuse 
when things go wrong ;).
