Clear a spot in the shack for new stuff. Donate that irreplaceable piece of radio stuff to the Greatest Auction south of Sothebys. (tax-time planning is all year long)

Acceptable items include:

Telegraph keys with oil paint drippings from Sam F.B. Morse's art studio.

WWI machine gun ammo from Hiram Percy Maxim's brother's machine guns " the Maxim Parabellum" used by the Red Baron. This is the gun that was phase-locked to the propeller so that it didn't shoot itself. The French and British bought the competitor' design that lacked this feature. Instead, they armor-plated the propeller in the early part of the air war.

Heinrich Hertz's split ring spark receivers that were VHF or higher in resonant frequency and could only be used in very dark rooms or at night- no daytime roving for contacts.

Wimshurst dielectric spark generators that converted mechanical energy to electric energy. An early example of G10 board combined with other substrates.

Tourmaline diodes that were popular in the early nineteenth century as detectors. They competed with galena crystals with cat-whisker point contact diode action.

NOS Litz wire for winding coils with less inter-winding capacitance. Must be covered with green silk or cotton.

Hand-made capacitors constructed with mica plates and copper sheets held together with nickel-plated bolts on varnished oak blocks chamfered and waxed.

Crystal AM detectors with tuning coil made from Mother's Oats Oatmeal box that features a free cup or saucer inside the box. A premium collector's item!

Bakelite panels with engraved labels. An early dielectric patented by Dr. Baky.

Beer bottles used by early experimenters, as insulators, developing the "Beverage Antenna" . Must be "Blatz" or equivalent brand.

We also accept any other radio items of known or unknown provenance.

 John the elder, K2STO
