[Fourlanders] Soft Rock SDR radios

It was me. I googled soft rock sdr as you suggested and found this website
(among others): www.softrockradio.org. I spent about 30 minutes looking at
the website and frankly was a bit underwhelmed. Maybe it is the engineer in
me but I went in looking for info on what the soft rock does, how it does
it, how you interface to it, what software you use and how, specifications,
etc. The website had absolutely no useful information on it that I could
find. To top everything off, the website seemed to say that they were in
the process of redesigning the soft rock and there are none available at the
moment! There was one place were they mentioned using the soft rock with
powerSDR which took me to the FlexRadio website which I spent another hour
looking at. Wow! I am really beginning to think that the FT2000 was a
mistake. I also spent some time on the RFSpace website looking at the SDR
receivers. FYI, this is what Brian uses on the 222 MHz station.

I was talking to someone on the mountain about these Soft Rock SDR
radios and I don't remember who, so I will put the info here on the
reflector. Do a Google search for Soft Rock SDR and you can find some
info and pix. This e-mail was just a week or so ago from the guy who
makes them. He has really added a bunch to the mix and the prices are
still dirt cheap.
