[Fourlanders] FW: [VHFcontesting] 222 and 144 sporadic E incontest

No big deal but I just hate it when AA4ZZ gets in on a band opening and we
miss it. We definitely need to keep an eye on that in the future if we can
continue to have internet access.

We weren't watching that particular web page. I think this points out
a weakness.

I suggest that we continue in the direction that we started this past
contest. We made an effort to stay connected to the internet and to
look for rovers via APRS. While the APRS thing did not yield any
points, knowing how to hold on to an internet connection from Soco
Bald will be invaluable. Shall we consider an additional "band
captain" position and call it something like conditions and
propagation watch?

I suspect we were at the edge of hearing it random and were probably
pointed in the wrong directions when it happened on 144. We were
looking at Hepburn and aurora models, but not for anything that would
have identified Es on 144 or 222. I doubt there were any missed Es
points on 222 for us.

It just adds salt to the wounds...
