Update on the VHF banquet at Dayton.  Yes, there will be no banquet this
year.  This definitely pushes me to the don't go side of the fence.  I
suggest that we all call the Holiday Inn and complain bitterly about this.

Tom WA8WZG and I had hosted the VHF Dinner at the Dayton Hamvention for
past 15 years or so. Prior to that it was an informal gathering held at
the Barnsider Restaurant conducted by Brian WA8MZQ net control of the
now defunct VHF Net held on Monday evenings on 3.843 MHz. We had every
intention of hosting it again in 2009 but long story short: The hotel
changed owners and sold the room out from under me. Given my work/travel
schedule, yada, yada, yada ...blah, blah, blah...gets boring right about
here, there was not enough time to find a suitable alternative
venue.....perhaps next year.

Glad you enjoyed the event and for me it was a pleasure to meet all the
usual suspects, trade stories with liked minded people (And they say
that RF doesn't affect brain cells...) and make new friends.

I probably missed the discussion, but why is there no VHF Dinner at
Dayton this year ?  

Doesn't this break a tradition that goes back decades ?  I was at last
years dinner and it was fully attended - certainly it can't be due to
lack of interest !
