[Fourlanders] Shelby Hamfest plans

Darlene and I are now going up on Fri. night and I have made a reservation at the Holiday Inn Express right off of I-85 at exit 17. The Inn is right down  RT 321 from the hamfest. We will be getting there about 8:00.  

I think your hotel and that steakhouse is just up I-85 at the next exit from us so if you go there on Fri. we should be able to join you..

On Sat., Jim and Jenn will be driving down from Greensboro to meet us at the hamfest. 

Then the girls are immediately leaving to head back to Jim's house to do "shopping and girl things" the rest of the day. 

Jim and I will then head that same direction later in the day after we have grown tired of the hamfest or run out of money.  
 
Darlene and I are staying with the kids through Monday then.

I'm planning to put together a group dinner for Friday and/or Saturday
nights if we can find some places to go.  So far I know there is a Texas
Roadhouse right at the Hampton Inn where most of us are staying so I
think we'll try that for Friday night and I'll see what kind of response
we get for Saturday night and maybe some more suggestions from those who
were up there last year.  Anyone have any ideas, pass them back to the
reflector and let's get a good group of VHFers together.  I don't think
any of us have the energy to put the Saturday night cookout together
again, but I sure do miss it.

Let me know if you have other ideas on places we can get together for
dinner.  I missed the new location last year so I have no idea, but I
did get reservations at the Hampton Inn Gastonia/Charlotte where a
number of us are staying.
