The W4NH contest group is moving to a new switchable 6 meter antenna array for this June contest. This requires that the current arrangement of (2) 6 meter beam antennas to now be fed independently, instead of the conventional stacked pair of beams fed with the 75 ohm phasing lines.
We are in the process of preparing 2 identical 50 ohm feed lines to be run to the array switch box, located at the base of the tower, which will now be the location of a phasing line power divider arrangement when the beams are run together.
The original 75 ohm phasing lines (about 12' long) contain a current balun at the feed point end. This balun is comprised of 3 ferrite cores slipped over the Belden 9292 feed line and held in place with a rubber tape.
The question for the group is this >>
Does anyone remember who originally built these phasing lines so we might find out the source these ferrite cores, what the ferrite material is, etc. The ferrite cores are 1" long, 1" wide, and have a 1/2" hole down the middle.
We would like to acquire 6 more of them to outfit the new 50 ohm feed lines with the same current balun design.
Thanks......
