In case you don't already know, K2ORS was known to the entertainment world
as Jean Shepherd,
the night-time host of WOR talk radio in NYC.

It was his childhood portrayed in his classic "*A* *Christmas Story*"

To a night-time Manhattan  audience, and DX down to my home in Pittsburgh,
he'd tell stories about soldering, and read poems from Robert Service.
Poems for men, like* "The Cremation of Sam McGee"* and *"The Shooting of
Dan McGrew".*

Back when a Miller beer commercial was spoken by Jean, and went on for 2
minutes.... and sometimes more(!).

You can hear his fondness for Ham Radio, it might hit home with a lot of us.
