[Fourlanders] Shelby Hamfest

I just made my reservation there.  About 20 miles from the hamfest which isn't 
bad.  You can already see the effect of the convention on hotel room rates.  
There was one Hampton Inn near Charlotte that had rooms available for $399 a 
night!  I can't fathom spending that much to stay just about anywhere, and I 
have stayed at some nice places, let alone a Hampton Inn!

right now, the hampton inn in shelby (shows 20 mi to gaston college)
shows (1 king bed) rooms at 59/night, 66.00 with taxes...
