The Fourlanders, W4NH, will do the ARRL June VHF QSO Party contest from
Mile High Campground between Maggie Valley and Cherokee NC. The contest
begins on June 11 through June 13, 2011. The contest starts at 2PM on
Saturday and runs until 11PM on Sunday evening. Jim has confirmed our
reservations with the campground and we are on track for the September
contest also.

Friends are invited to visit and operate with us for the contest. You
can also come and camp out too as we will have plenty of camping spaces.
It is also perfectly OK for visitors to get in on our food list, just
do let Jeff and I know which meals you would be there for. Breakfast,
lunch and dinner usually run about $3, $4 and $5 each.
Anyone needing directions, please let me know and I'll e-mail them to you.

As of right now, I expect the usual band captains to bring the VHF
stations. I am not sure about my plans for the microwave station this
year as the red trailer is an issue at this time. I will keep the group
informed, but at present I am leaning toward not having microwave.
So, if I need to take over as band captain for one of the VHF bands, let
me know as I will be available for that. Anyone needing to borrow any
gear for their stations, just let us know.

Jeff will be coming and doing the cooking. He told me this week he is
working on the menu already. We will send out a food sign up list
closer to the contest.

This should get things rolling. Put the dates on your calendar and let
me know about participating.

Also let me know if there are any changes in the usual trailer pulling
arrangements as follows:

Brian NX9O pulling Great White
Ron WW8RR pulling the Generator
Scott NN4W pulling his white trailer with 222 tower and the FOOD!
Ivan K4VJM pulling his Red Trailer for the 6m station
Bill KI4US pulling the 6m tower trailer
Bob W4ZST pulling a small tower trailer for 2 or 432
Jim W4KXY "
If Ron would rather have his small trailer rather than one of these we
can work that out.
That should take care of all the operating positions and antenna towers.
We will leave the W4ZST QTH around 9AM on Friday June 10

Do let me know what you think about back up generators. Should we take
the two that we did last fall?

I have taken the 2m antennas down recently and will start taking down
the 6m antennas after I do the 6m sprint with them tonight. I also plan
to work on realigning the elements on the lower 6m beam.

Please let me know of anything I have overlooked for this first contest
communique. Looking forward to another great time on the mountain.

73, Bob W4ZST
