[Fourlanders] D-STAR QSO Party

I attempted to answer a few reflector postings recently on this topic but they were not making it through......Brian identified the reason last night and hopefully the problem is fixed.....

Actually, this is about the 3rd or 4th year Icom has sponsored this QSO party........besides encouraging the use of repeaters to attempt QSOs with as many people around the world as you can (instead of limiting to simplex like real contesters do), Icom actually gives out radios and other trinkets as prizes for this event............unlike ARRL does for their QSO parties !!

I see now they are also allowing you to diddle with your DV dongle to participate in the contest so you really don't need to use a radio to be a Ham Radio contest champion......how about that !!

Someone had mentioned D-Star is FM......but D-Star is not FM.......it uses GMSK (digital analog) modulation
