We can only hope.
However... never underestimate the ability of the politically connected to make things go their way.
It is known that Obama had a stake in a company that was acquired by Lightsquared.  I wonder if he still has a stake?

NTIA has weighed in AGAINST Lightsquared. An NTIA report that there was "no practical way" to mitigate the service's impact on GPS.
