In a continuing effort to promote more local activity, tomorrow, Jan. 7th, will be the first Saturday of the month.  I had previously suggested that we, the users of the VHF and above spectrum, meet on the air on the first Sat. of each month for the purpose of checking out equipment operation, holding technical discussions, and gaining information on future grid/band DX-petitions.  This month will be a timely on-the-air meeting with the January VHF contest looming just around the corner on Jan. 21 and 22.  So, this will be an advantageous time to check and verify station performance.  I will be on 432.1 MHz at 9 a.m. CST this Saturday morning and can move to my other UHF/microwave bands of operation, 222/1296/2304/10 GHz rover, as requested.  So, if you want to check out your rigs and/or generate activity to the upcoming contest, get on the air Sat. and provide/gather your information to the other operators.  If one of your complaints is lack of activity, here is your opportunity to start to change that.
