You need to get more hard core Tom.  My mother said something last week about
wanting to visit contest weekend.  I told her that I had other plans and to come
some other time.

Bob,
I have a 8mm camcorder you can use.  Not a Sony, but maybe the video format is
the same.
Around the turn of the century, I strapped a radio to it so I could walk
around the house sending video without wires.
It might have bits of solder and superglue on it, but it ought to work.

We have the DECT phones like Jim says.  Vtech brand, from Costco.
Very ham-friendly in terms of the location of spurs and harmonics.

The handset paging feature is a really nice thing to have.
When I'm in the basement, I can page Jan and talk without having to run up the
stairs
and get all of that exercise.  They buttons aren't as complicated as an Icom HT,

but they're at least as complicated as a Yaesu HT.

We have elderly relatives who have the nerve to visit during a contest weekend.
I hope to break away at least for a little while and come up and join in the
fun.
