[Fourlanders] Fourlanders Digest, Vol 113, Issue 12

Bob, (k4esa)
I've been holding a 2m SSB/CW net for over a year and a half from EM84ni.
Only missed a few due to storms or band openings.
Here's the info;
I'm calling it the "No. GA SSB/CW Net"
Every Tuesday evening 0000Z on 144.210. I start looking south and then C/W.
I also log onto the ON4KST website each Tuesday evening b4 the net starts, to let
those guys know to listen for us.
Depending on condx, we have checkins from; sometimes FL, IN, IL, more
often KY, TN OH…etc. Normal checkins run from 4 to 8 per week.
This net was established precisely for the reason you stated; to increase VHF activity in the
GA/SC and surrounding states. My prime concern is to be sure to hold it each and every Tuesday
without fail so that operators can count on the net's continued existence. I'm not, by nature, an
NCS type person but felt there MUST be more weak sig guys around here than 1 or 2 of us and if
they knew about the net's existence, would find the time to check in. If there are any
of you guys out there with a moderate station, who feel the urge to help in this effort, please
let me know and we can share duties. My station consists of; 13el LFA, mm Preamp, at 60 ft.,
LMR400, K2 XV144 driving TE Systems amp. 260W.
Bob, or anyone else, if you can make it on Tuesday evenings, we'd all love to hear from you.
73
Tom

The only time (so far) that it hasn't been called

This was due to the way the production line was set up, and people with experience in designing production lines will tell you how difficult it is to have everything happen with timings so precise that every single unit coming out of it is perfect 100% of the time. ? ?

They solved the problem by using high-tech precision scales that would sound a bell and flash lights whenever a toothpaste box would weigh less than it should. The line would stop, and someone had to walk over and yank the defective box out of it, pressing another button when done to re-start the line. ? ?
