I hope the whole "thread" comes through.

Wonder if we could work with any of them to get Fourlanders gear?

Just a thought.

I can offer a similar service to Land's End (except there would be sales tax). I already offer this for amateur radio clubs in Central Florida. I set up a website for the organization where the members can order items (polos, hats, mugs, mouse pads, etc.) with both the organization's logo and their call/name.

I eat the digitizing charges, so there's no upfront costs or minimums that have to be met.

To get a better idea, take a look at: http://oarc.amateuroutfitters.com/ . The pricing would be the same.

I designed the logo in Adobe Illustrator and the powers that be reviewed it. I think it was approved? Anyway, it looks just like the FLWSS logo on the website. Just had to make some minor adjustments for it to be digitized, for embroidery. The (I think) agreed upon size was 2.5 inches in diameter. Unless somebody says differently, it would be black letters on a white background. Per what I said I would do, I contacted Lands End and here is what they said:

There is a setup fee that will probably be $95. It could be $140, but I would estimate the probability at close to zero of it being that high. The cost of embroidering the logo on a Lands End shirt would probably be $5.95. It could be $8.50. Here again the likelihood of it being $8.50 is quite low. The shirts run between $12.99 and $60.00 (plus shipping). I don't think Lands End has a presence in the state of Florida, so there should be no sales tax. There is no minimum order - you can order one shirt, if you want.

The way that this would work, is FLWSS would get a customer number and a logo number. Then any member with the customer # and logo #  can then order, from Lands End, on line or over the phone. In other words, you want a shirt, you order your own shirt. The transaction is between the individual FLWSS member and Lands End.

I did this for the West Central Florida D Star Club, some years ago. We had the D Star logo embroidered on Polo shirts. I think I have had my shirts since 2006. They still look nice.

Can't be at the next meeting. Talk it over and make a decision.
