Charles,
Well Dale has been sick for several years. But the last 2 months he declined
fast. He was laid off from Sprint about 4 or so years ago. Where he was a
staff engineer, worked a lot on the standards for new technology with
hardware and software suppliers. He did travel a lot to other countries. We
had a schedule on 40m everyday 360 days a year for over the last 8 years or
so.
I suspect his condition was a problem when he was working as his cause of
death was of liver failure (cirrhosis of the liver). His wife a nurse was
not aware of the problem until several years ago. The end of November was
the last time he got on the radio. I never had a conversation with him after
that. I talk to him on the phone, with his wife's help as it was a one-way
where I talked to him. That was two weeks ago.
Anyway, The main thing is that we pass on the info to others. I will be
getting it posted in QST as soon as Julie sends me the paper work that I
need to send to ARRL.
Thanks for Bob's number, I did find I had a typo in his email address,
corrected it and did resend it.
Yep, I live in Lula. On a ridge got about 12+ mile view, from the south
around to the west. I have trees around the other ways but if up on the
tower the view is good all around. Got 13.5A of land. I have a 160 dipole,
40m Loop, one vertical. I have only one tower up but nothing on it. I just
took down my 2m & 432 antennas last year. Never did get my 6m beam up. Still
sitting here on the ground. although I do get on 6m with the 40m Loop.
Well good to here from you Charles. Thanks for your reply and help. Keep in
touch!
Mark
